Facial Coding
Based on the work of psychologist Paul Ekman, we know that all humans possess the same set of emotions, ranging from anger and disgust to joy and surprise. These emotions are the same across language, race, culture, and age.
Because each facial expression is associated with a specific emotion, a person’s face broadcasts exactly what they are thinking and feeling. Their face becomes a window for our researchers to look into participants’ minds and uncover the truest form of insights. Facial coding can be used to eliminate differences in the way people from different cultures respond to stimuli.
Our Quantitative Facial Coding solution brings this highly insightful technique to online surveys by using a webcam to capture respondents’ faces as they complete the survey and special software to analyze their emotional responses to various stimuli.
